We’re not going over armbars, but I’m really digging this and will be drilling this setup.

A cool setup for the “Ninja Choke” that we too are showing down at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Van Nuys Check back tomorrow for a NEW setup I will be posting 😉 it will be a goodie!

Here’s what’s going down this week over at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Van Nuys. We did kimura’s last week and saw Noguiera get his arm broken shortly after! So let’s get in the gym and master the guillotine!

Ryron and Rener analyze Frank Mir’s impressive Kimura Armlock that broke Nogueira’s arm, and then they dissect Jones’ slick standing Guillotine that put Lyoto Machida to sleep. They also, give honorable demonstrations of the highlights from the TUF 14 Finale including Ferguson’s rolling Omoplata and Brandao’s beautiful armlock from the guard!”

Here’s a variation of one of the moves I showed tonight in class at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Van Nuys. This was originally shown to me by one of my former top students, Eddie “Kim” Lee. He came to me from Paragon Jiu Jitsu, where Jiu Jitsu standout, MMA fighter and black belt, Bill “The Grill” Cooper had shown it to him. He literally submitted all the students in the class, and even some of the instructors with it. It was such a good move, I asked him to show it to the rest of the academy.

Here’s a fun little move to show your friends when they say Jiu Jitsu is boring. Mike Frausto and Mike Venturella show how to take the armbar off the Samurai in transition.

Legend has it, we were drilling armbars when I thought to myself. “Armbar from the Ninja? this move might just work.”
I tried to pull off the armbar from the roll to the Twister, but I couldn’t get enough momentum. I asked Mikey “Lobes,” our resident arm snatcher and all around badass, if he could do it. He bypassed the ninja roll, and went straight to the Samurai instead. Genious!. He locked it down, rolled, and BAM! The S’arm-urai was born!
