It took maneuver never before seen at the highest level of mixed martial arts to snatch accolades for 2011’s top submission. Mere hours after Richard Hale locked up a flashy and rare inverted triangle in Bellator Fighting Championships on March 26, Chan Sung “Korean Zombie” Jung one-upped him in the Ultimate Fighting Championship by wrapping up fellow featherweight Leonard Garcia with a move called the twister in mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu. The spine-wrenching hold forces the target’s neck one way with the hands and arms while using the legs to move his lower body in the other direction to sharply torque the torso.
